Inaugural Mass
The new scholastic year of Auxilium Girls' Higher Secondary School, Nongthymmai started with the inaugural mass at 9:15 a.m. in the Parish Church of Divine Saviour, Nongthymmai; solemnized by Rev. Fr. T. A. Jose, SDB. The Eucharistic Celebration began with a solemn procession of girls carrying 7 flags of 7 different colours (Red, Pink, Green, Yellow, Gold, Orange, Blue and Purple) and each colour symbolizes one or two virtues which we aspire to acquire this year. The flags were placed at the foot of the alter as our petition to God. The Holy Mass is a fitting moment to get ourselves spiritually energized and prepare for the days ahead.
Pledge Taking Ceremony.
On the same day in the afternoon, the captains’ pledge-taking marked the school’s first significant event of the academic year 2019. The school captain, school vice captain, house captains, house vice captains and class monitresses took their pledge to dutifully carry out the responsibilities shouldered upon them. The school captain of 2019 is Euniki Jones Nongrang and the school vice captain is Cecilia Lalruatfeli. The chief guest of the event was Sr. Marvella Shangpliang, animator of Auxilium Convent, Nongthymmai. In her message, she highlighted the importance of team work and generous contribution of one’s life to the society. Sr. Joplin Suchiang, the Principal, congratulated the new leaders and motivated them to give their best in carrying out their duties. The event was concluded by the vote of thanks by Sr. Theresa Phawa, the Vice Principal, which was followed by the school anthem.
