Finally, the day we’ve all been waiting for has arrived, and it did arrive with a big bang: The mega celebration of Auxilium School’s long journey of 60 years. A celebration of 60 diamond years, a celebration of the past achievement and hope for the even longer journey ahead, in tune with the theme of the Diamond Jubilee Celebration, “The Journey Continues…”.
The day’s event started on an auspicious note, with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, with Fr. George Maliekal as the main celebrant. It was a joyous and heartfelt occasion wherein all the participants prayed and thanked God for His endless blessing showered upon the School.

The afternoon session of the celebration included some very entertaining programs: welcome songs, theme songs, cultural dance, speeches and addresses by the Chief Guest and the Guests of Honour. The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Shri. Conrad Sangma, himself graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Shri. Lahkmen Rymbui, the Education Minister of Meghalaya, and Shri. Charles Pyngrope, the current MLA of Nongthymmai Constituency, were the other guests of honour at the event.

The afternoon session kick started with Sr. Joplin Suchiang, the Principal of the School, giving the welcome address, wherein she welcomed all the invitees and participants to celebrate the occasion together as one big family. Numerous items performed by the student of the school added glamour to the celebration, with every act performed conveying the message of love, devotion, dedication and hope. The other noteworthy mention of the day is the inauguration of the School Management System by Shri. Charles Pyngrope and the release of the Jubilee Magazine by Shri. Conrad Sangma.
As the old adage goes, “All good things must come to an end”, it was bitter sweet when the day’s celebration came to an end. Sr. Theresa Phawa, the School Vice Principal, gave the vote of thanks on behalf of the school. This was followed by the lowering of the Jubilee Flag by Sr. Elizabeth Thannimoothil, the School Secretary. It was a sight to behold when all the students, staffs and everyone present sang the school anthem in unison to mark the end of the day’s celebration.
