Parents’ Day: Family – a hearth of love and life

16 October 2016 was a red-letter day in the annals of Auxilium Higher Secondary School, Nongthymmai where Parents Day was celebrated expressing gratitude to them for their untiring and loving dedication.  The celebration centered on the theme, “Family- A heart of love and life.” The local MLA, Shri Dr. Jemino Mawthoh was the Chief Guest for the event.

On this memorable day, the School had the honour of releasing its first audio album entitled, “Listen, Rise and Unite”. It consists of ten songs composed by the teachers and sung by the teachers and students.  Depicting the theme, the students with the help of their teachers came out with meaningful presentation such as “A musical presentation, paying Tribute to Parents”, a Prayer Dance invoking God’s blessing on Parents, a song dedicated to Parents from the School Album and the like. On this occasion, the school felicitated Miss Moureen Larikynti Kharkongor for winning the award of best Guide Captain 2016.

Speaking during the function, the Chief Guest expressed his appreciation of the school for organizing this type of programme and exhorted the parents to collaborate with the school in the better performance of their children. He also exhorted the student community to obey and respect their parents; for what they are today and will be in the future is all because of their parents. Mr. Paulinus Kharmudai, a parent representative expressed his joy and happiness to be part of the celebration and profusely thanked the school for all they do for the integral formation of their children on behalf of the parents.

The programme joyfully concluded with a heart touching scene of the students lining up on the playground and rending the air melodiously with the School anthem sung with much love and devotion.
